Gender differences in children's spatial cognition

Gender differences in spatial tasks emerge early in development. In this project, I am interested in how boys and girls differ in their mental effort and affective states on mental rotation tasks. Specifically, I aim to answer the following questions:

  • Do boys and girls (6-8 years) differ in their mental rotation performance?
  • How do boys and girls differ in their mental effort and affective states on mental rotation tasks?
  • Does trial history influence children’s mental rotation performance?
